Nominations open for Membership Coordinator
Nominations open October 14 and remain open through November 13, 2026, for an interim Local 083 Membership Coordinator. Nominate yourself or a fellow member who wants to help coworkers connect with our union.
What does the Membership Coordinator do?
Our immediate priority is someone to lead monthly new-member welcome meetings. You will help new coworkers understand our union, find support, and get involved. Outreach strategy and event coordination offer additional ways to contribute with our executive team and organizers.
The broader responsibilities in our posted bylaws, Article 3, Section 6 include:
- Recruiting new members and retaining current members.
- Helping develop and maintain the Communication Action Team.
- Using new-employee and membership lists to reach coworkers and correct discrepancies.
- Coordinating our union presentation at New Employee Orientation.
- Annual outreach encouraging nonmember represented employees to join our union.
- Serving as an automatic General Council delegate and attending General Council.

What happens next?
These nominations are for an interim Membership Coordinator who will serve until the full election in early 2027. This notice is not an election ballot. If multiple people are nominated, we plan to seek member feedback. Our executive team will share information about the interim selection process and the upcoming election with members.
