We stood together and won a 3 percent raise.

Our ratified contract raises base pay by 3 percent effective Nov. 1, 2026, for Oregon State University classified staff covered by the agreement.

Every coworker conversation and show of solidarity helped us get here. This is a win we made possible together.

The cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, is separate from annual step increases. We also won another 3 percent COLA effective Nov. 1, 2027.

What to expect in your November paycheck

OSU’s regular payday is the last business day of the month. How much of your November paycheck reflects the raise depends on the dates your pay period covers.

Paid for the 16th through the 15th?

Your end-of-November paycheck covers Oct. 16 through Nov. 15. That pay period includes two rates:

  • Oct. 16–31: Your previous base-pay rate.
  • Nov. 1–15: Your new base-pay rate, 3 percent higher.

Only the November portion receives the COLA. That covers roughly half the pay period, though the amount depends on your hours. Your end-of-December paycheck, covering Nov. 16–Dec. 15, should be the first with a full pay period at the new rate.

Paid for the 1st through the end of the month?

Your end-of-November paycheck covers Nov. 1–30, so your regular base pay for the full period should reflect the 3 percent increase. You’ll see it in the paycheck paid at the end of November.

Check your pay rate

Look at the rate and dates on your pay statement. Your take-home pay also depends on hours, taxes, deductions and other earnings, so the deposit may not be exactly 3 percent larger.

If your rate looks wrong, contact OSU Payroll. You can also ask a Local 083 steward for help.
