Why your steward asks
Your steward reviews these files to understand what HR and your supervisor have documented before helping you decide on next steps.
Together with what you share, the records help your steward build a clear timeline, identify missing context and prepare for the questions or concerns management may raise.
This is a routine part of preparing to support you.
Request both at once
You can ask for both files in the same email. Since they may contain different records, requesting both now helps avoid a second request later.
You choose who reviews it
The request authorizes a SEIU steward assisting with your matter to inspect and receive these records for your representation. If you already have a steward, you can name them in the message.
If a steward has not been assigned yet, our team can help connect you. Coordinate with your steward to confirm who will access the files.
Need a steward? Email our team →Send one clear request
Send it to Employee and Labor Relations (ELR). Ask for both your official personnel file and your supervisory file.
CC our steward team or your assigned steward. Use [email protected] if you need help connecting with a steward. If a steward is already helping you, use their email instead.
Authorize steward access. The message gives permission for a SEIU steward assisting with your matter to review both files. You can add your assigned steward’s name and email if you have them. Fill in your own details before sending.
Your email request
CC: [email protected] or your assigned steward
Subject: Request for personnel and supervisory files
Already working with a steward? Replace the team address with their email.
The email button includes ELR, your chosen CC address, the subject and your edited message. Replace any remaining brackets before sending. Nothing is sent from this page.
When you hear back
Save your request and ELR’s reply. Share both files with the steward handling your case, including any instructions needed to open a secure link. If a file is missing, access is delayed or something looks incorrect, ask your steward to help follow up.
If a meeting or response deadline is coming up, contact your steward now rather than waiting for the files.
