What BOLI Covers
BOLI enforces Oregon workplace standards including wage and hour rules, parts of leave law, and civil rights protections. Union workers can have both contract remedies and BOLI remedies depending on the facts.
Key Limits and Numbers (As of February 10, 2026)
- Civil rights / retaliation filing window: usually 1 year from the harmful act.
- Final paycheck deadlines: by end of next business day after termination; immediately if employee gives at least 48-hour notice before quitting; otherwise within 5 business days or next regular payday (whichever is first).
- Late final paycheck penalty: up to 8x regular hourly rate per day, up to 30 days.
- Standard minimum wage (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026): $15.05/hour in standard counties (Benton County).
Time-limit warning: filing windows vary by claim type. Contact your steward and BOLI quickly when an issue starts.
