When sources disagree, we identify the controlling source and explain uncertainty where it matters. When a webpage cannot safely answer a member’s individual situation, we ask a steward or our executive team to connect that member with the right help.
Benefits and unemployment
We prioritize the Oregon Employment Department, Oregon Department of Human Services and relevant federal program administrators. Eligibility is described as conditional, never guaranteed.
Food, shelter and local services
We prioritize the service provider, local government, Oregon Food Bank, 211 and state agency directories. Because hours and capacity change quickly, guides tell readers to call before traveling.
History and context
We prioritize public records, government data and established public-history sources. We distinguish historical context from claims about what a future strike will accomplish.
